Verdict

MARTELLO TOWER, unbeaten in point-to-points and bumpers, won the 2015 Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham but has only had three subsequent starts, two of them at Grade One level. His dam is from a fine family of staying chasers so tackling the bigger obstacles shouldn't be a problem and he can make a successful debut. Anibale Fly was in excellent form over hurdles last winter and landed a lucrative handicap at Punchestown in April. He's starting out over fences at the right age and looks one to follow. Squouateur is even younger and has won three of his seven starts over hurdles. His pedigree suggests he'll be even better over the bigger obstacles so he's one to follow over the winter. Gurteen's victory over De Plotting Shed here in January has been handed a boost by the exploits of the runner-up so he's another to respect in what should prove an informative contest.
