Verdict

Newfoundland, runner-up to stablemate Arbutus over 1m5f here three weeks ago, could have the form boosted by the winner earlier. COUGAR, another Ballydoyle entry, attempted to make all over this trip at the Curragh but had no answer when Glory Daze swept past. The winner has subsequently finished runner-up to Stone Age in the Leopardstown Derby Trial. Impero did well in his first campaign and his pedigree suggests he'll be much better as a three-year-old while Paris Lights completely missed the break here in March so did well to get as close as he did. Vega Magnifico returned from a long break with a fine run at Leopardstown where he still looked in need of experience.
