Stoughan Cross has won over the course and distance on heavy going and is just 2lb higher than his last winning mark. Final List had some smart hurdles form but has so far run poorly over fences while Persian Wind, who scored over hurdles at Downpatrick in October, is unpredictable. Enduring Love went up 6lb for a surprise victory at Fairyhouse and has been unable to cope but Fairly Legal returned from a break with a good run at Naas and looks likely to get into contention. SHANROE AL C completed a hat-trick over hurdles in the spring and made a successful handicap debut over fences at Tipperary. He was going best when left clear for a very easy victory that day and, though a 16lb rise looks harsh, can complete a five-timer.
