    Verdict

    Encompassing is not one of his stable's stars despite his superb breeding. He was sent to Chester for the Dee Stakes after his Limerick maiden success but never got into the action and may have to give best here to SHINTOH. Jim Bolger's son of Giant's Causeway is related to a host of high-class winners and is entered in the Irish 2000 Guineas and Derby. He didn't achieve much when landing a Cork maiden in October but there should be much more to come from him. Barack is a decent enough and consistent handicapper but it would be disappointing if a classic entry couldn't beat him at weight-for-age while the veteran Orpailleur has it all to do on these terms.
