In depth

Verdict

The veteran LORD ERSKINE won a Curragh handicap in September and returned to hurdling with a fine run in a similar handicap to this over the course and distance last month where he led in the straight and was only caught on the run-in. A dual course winner, he can go in again. Jeff Kidder hasn't replicated his brilliant juvenile form which saw him win the Champion Four Year Old Hurdle at Punchestown though he's been competing at a high level. Shannon Royale beat the long odds-on Tullyhill in a canter at Punchestown and makes his handicap debut from what may prove a very lenient mark. Natural Look's latest success was over fences and she's on a lower mark back over timber. Carnfunnock didn't jump well but still managed a close third in a strong Haydock handicap while Harvard Guy was having only his second start in a handicap when scoring over track and trip last month.
