Verdict

Joseph O'Brien can finally get a race out of ROYAL COURT, who is tackling the minimum trip for the first time. He took the lead inside the final furlong over 6f at Leopardstown but couldn't quite hold Baladiya, who was receiving 5lb. Nicaro showed promise last term and on his reappearance here and may not have been suited by Polytrack at Dundalk. That's Mad looked a likely future winner when runner-up in a big field over the course and distance but didn't perform as well over an extra furlong at Naas. Designation, who cost €105,000, is a very speedily-bred filly who won't need to be a world-beater to get into contention.
