In depth

Verdict

Aidan O'Brien complicates proceedings by saddling two, both blinkered for the first time. The newcomer Goodwill is by Montjeu and closely related to the useful David Livingston but it's GRAN PARADISO who catches the eye on pedigree as he's by Galileo out of a mare from the family of Duke Of Marmalade and Ruler Of The World. He was unfancied on his debut last October and it's a concern that he hasn't been seen subsequently but this looks a moderate contest and he can reappear with a victory. Bold Bid just lost out to O'Brien's Giant Redwood over two miles here a couple of weeks ago and Adarenna also finished behind a Ballydoyle winner over 1m2f on the same card where she was noted staying on nicely. Glacial Drift beat the very useful Kalopsia in a Down Royal bumper in May and could prove smart when sent over hurdles.
