DRUMFIRE, a useful performer on the Flat for Mark Johnston, made a sparkling debut over timber when narrowly beaten by Universal Truth in a high-class maiden at the Galway Festival. He's since run quite well in a Listed contest at the Curragh and looks a very nice prospect. First Lieutenant landed a point-to-point at Kilfeacle in January before an impressive success when odds-on for a Gowran bumper in March. He should do well at this game and rates a threat as would Steel Park on last year's form though his only run this year in May resulted in a poor run at Sligo. Derinlaur, a winning point-to-pointer and bumper, hasn't been seen for two years and may just need the run but Celtic Wish very nearly made all over 2m1f at Killarney and should be suited by the slightly shorter trip. The useful ex-French Flat winner Pointilliste is another to keep an eye on in a race that should produce plenty of future winners.
