Verdict
AMERICAN MIKE, twice placed behind Facile Vega in championship bumpers at Cheltenham and Punchestown, had little to beat on his hurdling debut at Down Royal and this is a stiffer test but it will be a surprise if he's beaten. Stablemate Three card Brag faced much stronger opposition when narrowly beaten into third in a Grade 3 here after an easy maiden success at Galway while Affordable Fury, unbeaten in a point, a bumper and a strong looking Galway maiden hurdle, has looked a potentially very smart prospect. Dawn Rising was hardly out of a canter to land a Listowel maiden while Kilbarry Chloe landed a Limerick Grade 3 in March and looked in need of the run on her reappearance.
