Verdict

DIAMOND JOHNNY G made a pleasing debut at Lingfield and can take this race at the main expense of Party Doctor; the most prominent on the list of dangerous newcomers appear to be Showcasing, Erfaan and Lucky General. This looks a very hot maiden, and indeed it was won last year by Sri Putra who went on to win the Solario Stakes on his next start. The selection was relatively unfancied for his Lingfield bow but he ran on well into second behind a runaway winner and with that effort under his belt he looks sure to give a good account. Party Doctor is one of only two others in the line-up to have raced, and Tom Dascombe's promising son of Dr Fong is out of a multiple wining mare (including at Listed level) so he is bred to be smart. As is Showcasing, a brother to the smart Bouvardia, and also Erfaan who is related to several US winners and indeed that may be where his future will ultimately lie. Summerinthecity is a half-brother to Meydan Princess, whilst Lucky General, Magnus Thrax and Red Badge give Richard Hannon a strong hand. A whole host of others must be considered, especially if the market speaks in their favour however we select Diamond Johnny G to sparkle the brightest.
