Verdict

Match Maker is intriguing having only taken part in three races over three seasons and now finds himself burdened with topweight in a competitive heat. He'll need to improve on his recent Ayr success but that was a first run in two years and this will provide a better indication of his talent. Carp Kid wins in his turn and is respected but some promising three-year-old handicappers line-up and RHYTHMIC INTENT makes appeal on just a fifth career start and on the back of a very narrow defeat the last day at Sandown over this trip for which he has been raised a rather harsh 4lb. Ambling and My Dear Friend are also of interest for the three-year-old brigade.
