Verdict

Ben Pauling sent out last year’s winner and has a good record with bumper horses in general here. He saddles Your Darling, an unraced son of Shirocco who is the first foal to race of a bumper and hurdles winner. Jay Bee Why, Prince Escalus and Ballycallan Fame have all shown ability in points and have joined powerful NH stables. Calvario is a likely improver while Fantastikas found only an odds-on favourite too good at Southwell last month but all eyes will be on FLINTEUR SACRE. Charlie Swan failed to get Sprinter Sacre’s full brother to the racecourse but Nicky Henderson has managed to get JP McManus’ expensive purchase ready and he’s one to watch, whatever happens today.
