    Verdict

Paul Cole is more than capable of producing a three-year-old to win first time up for the season and looks to have a strong hand with My Putra, who gets the nod over Almanshood and Kong in the finale. The selection ran a good race behind Craven Stakes contender Forward Move when he was last seen out and, as things have turned out, was not disgraced in defeat. The step up in trip is in his favour and it will take a good one to stop him this afternoon. Almanshood shaped with promise when he was last seen out and there is plenty more to come from him. His effort at Salisbury was all the more commendable as he got very upset in the stalls. Kong is stoutly bred and should cope with the step up in distance. However, his form was nothing out of the ordinary last term and, like a few of the rest, he has improvement to find. Therefore, we return to My Putra as a more reliable option, as he looked a useful performer in the making last term and with his yard very much in-form, he is the one to beat here.
