A typically competitive banded stakes card gets underway with this extended nine-furlong contest that should go to Coolfore Jade, who is preferred to Jollys Pride and Lillianna. The selection has been running well of late, including when successful in a similar contest over 10 furlongs at Lingfield last time and looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to follow up. Jollys Pride is less exposed than most of these after just five career starts and showed his best form last time when a close fourth behind Air Of Esteem. A reproduction of that effort would see the four-year-old go close. Platinum Boy has been running into form but, if anything, this is probably a tougher race than those that he has been contesting of late and of more interest may be Lord Melbourne, who was rated in the 70s at his best but has been on the downgrade for some time. Lillianna won a weak maiden claimer at Lingfield last time and is another to consider but Coolfore Jade sets the standard and gets the vote.
