Verdict
A typically wide open Showcase sprint handicap featuring a number of possibles so only a tentative vote goes to Arzoo with Maugwenna, Masaader and Formalise amongst the chief dangers. Luca Cumani has his team in excellent form at present and the Italian can expect a bold show from Arzoo following a highly pleasing comeback in similar company at Newmarket last month. The son of Bahhare stayed on well from off the pace to finish fourth behind the useful Tarjman over this trip and the form has been boosted since with the third winning in good style at Salisbury yesterday. The selection has been dropped a 1lb since and should give another good account under Frankie Dettori. Maugwenna also shaped well on his Sandown return when a strong finishing fourth behind Move It over an inadequate five furlongs and should appreciate the extra furlong so rates a threat while Indian Maiden is on a four-timer and can't be ruled out with conviction despite taking a step up in class. Masaader and Formalise both showed useful winning juvenile form and should continue to progress this season so are clearly capable of going close if fit following their winter break.
