In depth

Verdict

Colorado Blue is the pick ahead of Allied Powers and Forsyte Saga. The gelding is making his first step into handicaps for Roger Charlton and somewhat unusally has been hurried into it after two unsuccessful efforts this term. He certainly has suggested that today's trip will hold no fears and on this better going, he represents value at the likely odds. Allied Powers was due to turn out at York on Wednesday so it remains to be seen as to whether we get a repeat showing. Forsyte Saga has graduated up the handicap via the gaff tracks and now takes on solid opposition for the first time. Maxwil should be in good form following a romp at Brighton in maiden company. Celt is a definite watch in the market horse as he went into many notebooks after a fourth at Windsor. Stan Moore has hit a bit of form so there will be no surprises if Windsor scorer, Dubai Petal attracts some interest in the market. La Columbina looks open to further improvement. A hard race to get a handle on but there are sure to be plenty of winners coming out of it and to a token stake, we offer up Colorado Blue.
