Verdict
Shanghai Lily could hardly have been more impressive when making a winning debut here over six furlongs and is taken to follow up, with Light of Dubai and Annals rated the main dangers. The selection earned quotes of 25/1 and 33/1 for the 1,000 Guineas when successful here by four lengths last month and will need to win this to justify those odds. The Barry Hills-trained Tahrir strictly holds Light Of Dubai on their running when second and fourth respectively behind Joint Aspiration at Kempton earlier this month but Godolphin's filly was not given a hard time once beaten that day and may benefit from that today. Henry Candy's Annals did everything that was asked of her when scoring at Goodwood first time up but faces no easy task under her penalty on a faster surface, while this looks a lot harder than the Thirsk race that Desert Move won on her debut. Brian Meehan's Sharp As A Tack looks exposed in comparison to her rivals and is difficult to recommend in a race that is taken to go to Shanghai Lily.
