Verdict
Godolphin have taken this event three times previously and Sussex Stakes winner Noverre may add to the tally. The four-year-old has produced his best form on a quick surface and his turn of foot will be a potent weapon in this company. The stable's pacemaker Summoner had the selection behind when enjoying the run of the race in the QE II last September but may have to give best on this quicker surface while Warningford and Umistim are others who would prefer easier underfoot conditions. Olden Times has claims on his Prix Jean Prat victory while No Excuse Needed wasn't seen to best effect last time and is better judged on a Group 2 win at Goodwood last term. Keltos was supplemented for this after landing a Group 2 at Saint Cloud last time and merits respect along with Swallow Flight who holds Cape Town on Sandown running.
