    Verdict

ROYAL SEAL gained her only success over this trip on fast going at Sandown last year but has performed with credit in both starts this term. She couldn't quite hold the late bust of Above The Rest on soft going at Haydock and today's quicker conditions can see her back in the winner's enclosure. Windfast is the class act in the race with a close fourth in last year's Jersey Stakes to his credit but he hasn't been seen since August and may just need this. Emell has stepped out of handicap company to run well at Group level so he's definitely in the picture though a strike-rate of 2-26 is a poor return for his ability. Lacan will be having his first start at this trip having been mainly confined to a mile but he's in good form and there's no reason why he shouldn't be suited.
