Verdict
Another race full of well-bred youngsters, and a chance is taken that Miss Adelaide is forward enough to make a winning debut, ahead of the more experienced Cusco and Silk Fan. The latter improved on previous efforts to make all at Salisbury a fortnight ago, while Cusco belied her breeding to win nicely enough over a mile at Sandown. A half-sister to sprinter Peruvian Chief, she should be more at home over this seven furlongs, and will be in the shake-up. However, like Silk Fan she has to carry a penalty and it could be worth going with one of the newcomers, namely Miss Adelaide who has been working really well on the Faringdon Road we hear. Barry Hills's filly, out of a Minstrel mare and entered for the Group 1 Meon Valley Stud Fillies' Mile, may develop into a genuine 1,000 Guineas candidate in time and is expected to run well here. Sir Michael Stoute is double-handed with Poise and Estilhaam, neither of whom hold any fancy entries. The Dunlop pair, Karamea and Tizi Ouzou are best watched, and we will row in with Miss Adelaide to make an immediate impact.
