    Verdict

Dutch Art has done everything asked of him so far and Peter Chapple-Hyam's colt is taken to maintain his unbeaten record here prior to an attempt at the 2,000 Guineas with the main threats looking to be Captain Marvelous and Halicarnassus. The last mentioned looked useful when landing his first two starts as a juvenile but was very disappointing when beating only one home in the Dewhurst on his final start as a juvenile and on that evidence he looks best left out of calculations. Major Cadeaux has not been seen since finishing a highly creditable second in the Coventry Stakes and is probably best watched on his return, with a bigger threat looking to come from the Barry Hills-trained Captain Marvelous, who showed progressive form last term. Peter Chapple-Hyam's Tariq has, like Major Cadeaux, not been seen since his run in the Coventry when third and deserves his place in the line up but stablemate Dutch Art has the proven form and he looks the one to beat.
