Verdict
Less experience on show than in the first division with last month’s Newmarket third Mawsool, the choice of Jim Crowley, probably the pick of those who have had a run ahead of Breath Of Air and Bath runner-up Whelans Way. Hannon and Moore team up again with another newcomer, Dragon Sun, but he may need further and an easier surface. William Haggas has won this for the last two years but Aplomb has already been gelded. Fillies are well represented and CHARLOTTE ROUSSE could go well at a price for a yard that has a decent strike-rate here with its juveniles. She’s got a speedy pedigree and has an entry in next month’s Two-Year-Old Trophy – in-form Oisin Murphy takes the reins.
