Verdict

The Racing Post Trophy sees Eagle Mountain, Thousand Words and Drumfire short listed, with the selection being Thousand Words. A wide-margin winner of the Group 2 Beresford Stakes last time, Eagle Mountain comes here as an exciting prospect and, with his stable having won this four times since 1997, looks to be a leading player today. However, Thousand Words left a disappointing York performance behind him when winning the Group 3 Tattersalls Stakes impressively at Newmarket last time and also looks to be a key player. Keep an eye out for a form boost from Dijeer in the card's opening race. Charlie Farnsbarns showed improved form to win the Hyperion Stakes at Ascot last time, while Drumfire has already landed the Group 3 Solario Stakes this season, which represents very solid form. Medicine Path's Royal Lodge second last time to an Aidan O'Brien-trained colt grants him plenty of respect, while the Goffs Million runner-up, Regime, looks an interesting prospect and is another to consider. Finally, Teslin and Sunshine Kid both won their maidens well enough and are worthy of their places in the line-up but, for the selection, we return to Thousand Words.
