In depth

Verdict

David Simcock has won the last three of these, the latest with Desert Encounter, who had been finding the ground too fast before landing a Listed contest on good going at Windsor. MIRAGE DANCER has a Group 3 penalty for his victory at Goodwood where he was very impressive. There looks more to come from the son of Frankel and he's in the Champion Stakes. He had Euginio 3l behind at Goodwood in May and Richard Hannon's charge doesn't look up to this despite scoring at Doncaster but Chester Vase winner Young Rascal returns to action after finishing mid-division in the Derby. Desert Skyline is a stayer who has seen the back of Stradivarius in his last four starts.
