    Verdict

Don't Tell Mary is an interesting contender despite her penalty, however Irish 1000 Guineas entry JACQUELINE QUEST may have progressed past the standard of her early season Hilary Needler win and it is Henry Cecil's filly who is preferred to Snow Fairy, Pipette and Electric Feel. The selection steps up in class today following a facile Chester win in September. She is out of a mare who was a strong stayer so it is quite surprising that she has been able to win over this trip this season, however she obviously gains more of her speed from her sire Rock Of Gibraltar. The loss of Tom Queally in the saddle is a blow given the way that he has ridden in the big races this year, however Ian Mongan is an able deputy and success awaits. The highest-rated in the field is Ed Dunlop's Snow Fairy. She lost out in a three-way photograph in the Prestige Stakes when last seen and has shown more than enough to suggest she will pick up some 'Black Type' sooner rather than later. The step up in trip looks likely to suit Za Za Zoom, whilst Plume, Pipette and Madam Macie all won their maidens last time out with little fuss. Electric Feel's second to Tabassum in the Oh So Sharp Stakes earlier this month reads fairly well and she is the second highest-rated in the race; her overall level of form means that she will be a good yardstick from which to judge the race. After a flop in the Queen Mary in June, Don't Tell Mary didn't improve on that run when well-held earlier this month in another Group Three at Ascot. Whilst she has a penalty for her Listed win in May, she cannot be overlooked now tried at a different track. Plenty to consider here, however it is Jacqueline Quest who can come out on top.
