In depth

Verdict

Another tough handicap to sort through and with high numbers generally favoured at Newbury, we give the TEAMtalk selection to Marcus Tregoning's Chin Chin. He was the subject of a number of positive reports before the start of the season, and after breaking his maiden at the second time of asking, he flopped on his third. The Tregoning camp reportedly suffered with the virus at the time and this run is forgiven. His handler sent out a two-year-old winner at Nottingham the other day and if this colt is fit, he must surely go close. Late Claim was another to disappoint on its last start. Barry Hills' horse was well-beaten on his sole nursery start. Progressing nicelyprior to that blob, he may still be well in off 85. Aimee's Dream comes into this after finishing fourth to Redcar Trophy winner, Somnus, at Ripon. (Eastern Magenta behind in sixth.) James Fanshawe's runners are always respected in this grade and Vindication is his representative. He didn't get the cleanest of runs at Lingfield last time out and will need to produce more here. Fleetwood Bay is respected after landing a 25/1 shock in Doncaster's St Leger Yearling Stakes whilst Aimee's Dream cannot be discounted.
