In depth

Verdict

CARTHAGE handled the soft ground at Goodwood with no problem and ran well to finish runner-up despite returning a losing favourite. He looks up to going one better in this. Chatez has shown some ability in a couple of starts in fast ground but Bold Runner showed no improvement when encountering heavy going at Salisbury. Both Jefferson City and Nabatean are related to winners but fellow newcomer and 200,000gns colt, Observational, looks of more interest especially if the betting speaks in his favour.
