Verdict

This has been won by some smart performers in recent years so the form may be worth following. Coconut Splash was just beaten at Aintree and Trincomalee wasn’t beaten far on his hurdling debut at Sandown while Katahdin may just have needed the run when a beaten favourite here earlier this month but a host of their rivals bring strong bumper form into the contest. After landing the odds at Uttoxeter and Ffos Las last winter, King Roland remains undefeated but SON OF CAMAS looked every inch a jumper when beating better-fancied stablemate Timberman here on just his second start and he can see off the challenge of Ask For Glory, who didn’t have the pace to land a blow in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham in March but also looks a fine prospect for hurdles. Sadlermor is also interesting along with French import Coupdebol.
