    Verdict

In an open affair, EFFIGY can get the better of Hyde Lea Flyer and The Cayterers. Hyde Lea Flyer ran without much success on turf last season, but has been much improved at Wolverhampton this year, winning twice and just touched off in a hat-trick attempt. It remains to be seen if he can translate that form to Turf but he can go well. The Cayterers has not won for almost three years on Turf but he won twice on the all-weather during the winter. He turned in his best effort on grass for a long time when a staying on third recently, and looks well handicapped. Effigy is still on the upgrade, and was a beaten favourite last time at Windsor following an encouraging re-appearance. He ran well in defeat however, and having won successive races last September, he knows how to get his head in front. Those two runs will have brought him to peak fitness, and Effigy can land his first success of the campaign.
