In depth

Verdict

Mere Ironmonger is likely to need this so DELL ORO is fancied to follow up last month’s victory at Ascot, despite his penalty. First Flow also carries 5lb extra but did beat a subsequent winner at Lingfield so is a danger. Royal Ruby looked one paced when favourite at Fakenham and the going is also an unknown but he’s the type to improve with racing. Present Ranger made his hurdling debut in fair company here at the start of the month and is another likely improver.
