In depth

Verdict

Loyal Royal was just touched off on his Salisbury debut and can go one better here; the newcomers Bonnie Prince Blue and King Magnus could provide most danger. The performance of David Elsworth's colt in that Salisbury event was very eye-catching, as he was slowly away before running on well in the final furlong and just failing to catch the more-experienced Stratham. With that run under his belt he will be hard to beat this afternoon. The Barry Hills-trained Bonnie Prince Blue is by Tipsy Creek out of a well related mare and, as with most of the Hills juveniles, he should know what is required of him. King Magnus is bred for speed, being a half-brother to two five furlong winners, and hails from a yard with a good percentage of first-time-out winners. Deira and Nudrah are two other debutante's to watch out for in the betting, but on this occasion we have to side with the form horse and that is Loyal Royal.
