In depth

Verdict

An interesting contest in which John Gosden had three original entries but relies on Darlectable You, a full-sister to four winners including the top-class Too Darn Hot and other Group winners, and Louis Armstrong, a half-brother to three winners including the useful Strathspey. Godolphin also have two entered, the experienced Castlebar, who couldn't quite hold Parachute over the trip at Lingfield, and BANDINELLI. The latter is by Dubawi out of a mare who has produced winners with her first three offspring including Group 1 winner Old Persian. Kondo Isami couldn't live with the long odds-on Teona here last month but it was a promising start and improvement looks certain.
