Verdict
The Masareti Kid has been a consistent sort lately, and can pay to follow here, with Normandy Sands, Caesar's Palace and Magenko taken to give him most to do. The Masareti Kid has been given a short break since finishing third on good ground at Sedgefield on Boxing Day, and in the belief that he will handle the heavy conditions, can bounce back with a win. Geoff Harker's charge ran well enough on soft ground when chasing home Moscow Leader at Kelso the time before last, and although he is not the easiest of rides, Neill Hannity knows how to get the best out of him, and despite some none too fluent jumping on occasions, he is sure to be battling on the run-in. Normandy Sands has yet to open his account and does not seem to have progressed a lot since leaving Luke Dace, so would not appeal if sent off as favourite to retrieve Hereford losses, especially in this ground. Caesar's Palace gained his last victory in 2002 when housed with Martin Pipe, and needs to come down the weights, while Magenko found the fast conditions against him at Musselburgh last month and will be more at home here. He is not badly treated and can give the selection, The Masareti Kid, most to do.
