In depth

Verdict

Englishwoman has been in excellent form during a busy start to 2017 and the up-and-coming Lewis Edmunds takes a valuable 5lb off her back but this is her first experience of this track, all her starts this year having come on Southwell's Fibresand. She's clearly in good heart but POPPY IN THE WIND makes greater appeal. A dual winner on this surface, she landed a higher-class contest here under this rider last time and is taken to follow up even though the additional furlong is a possible concern. Veena is still pretty hard to assess but respected all the same and Sugar Town can not be ruled out and could emerge as the main danger as she runs the track well and has developed into a reliably consistent sprinter at this level.
