In depth

Verdict

Suggestion ended a long losing run when scoring at Wetherby on Boxing Day but is 9lb higher today. Royal Reserve has won six times on the Flat but failed to figure in four previous efforts over hurdles and has switched to Lucinda Russell’s yard but Pc Dixon was placed on several occasions last year and should be sharper for a recent outing. The latter comment also applies to THE CHARACTER, who won off a higher mark at Sedgefield in 2017 and was having his first start since when fading away in the closing stages at Hexham in November. Donald McCain’s charge is expected to finish much closer today with Tunnel Creek perhaps best of the rest.
