In a trappy opener, Hillside Girl is just taken to land the spoils, with Dr Fox, Athollbrose and Game Flora the main dangers. Alan Berry has had a couple of juvenile winners so far this term, and Hillside Girl showed plenty of promise on her debut when fourth to the smart Rosina May at Ripon just over a week ago. The Tagula filly showed plenty of speed on that occasion and is likely to be a good deal fitter and stronger now. Nick Littmoden's Dr Fox was noted making late headway on his debut at Musselburgh, and should have learned from that, while Tim Easterby's Mister Baileys colt Athollbrose was not disgraced behind Are You There at Southwell on his debut and should be capable of picking up a race or two on that evidence. The biggest danger, though, is likely to be Game Flora, who had the worst draw possible on her debut at Beverley and under the circumstances ran very well behind the useful Marcus Eile. If she can improve on that she would go very close. Few of the newcomers make any great appeal on breeding, but Karl Burke's two-year-olds have been going well and any market support for either A Little Bit Yarie or High Voltage could be worth noting.
