In depth

Verdict

Amplification showed enough potential on his debut at Yarmouth in October to start favourite a few days later at Doncaster where he battled on strongly to beat Epic Fantasy by the narrowest margin. He has a penalty to carry as does NARCOS for his debut success at Doncaster. Richard Fahey's charge gets the nod as he got badly bogged down in the mud at Haydock later and that should be ignored. Citron Major was out with the washing for much of his recent run here but finished with a real flourish and has to be respected. Night Castle ran in snatches at Kempton and will have learnt plenty while Mark Johnston's filly On A May Day is by Choisir out of a 6f winner so should have plenty of pace. Broken Force has been gelded and his pedigree suggests he can do better as a three-year-old.
