        Verdict

        URSUS, runner-up to Oakbrook at Catterick last time, could have his form boosted by the winner who runs in the first division and earns the vote in a very moderate heat. Bartley has been disappointing since his maiden success last June but has dropped in the ratings as a consequence and faces lesser opposition than at Doncaster last time. He can go well along with C&D winner Brave Battle, though the latter would prefer softer ground. Red Scintilla ran poorly at Carlisle on Sunday though can't go much lower in the weights but Celestial Dawn has looked too high after going up 8lb for her victory at Bath in June.
