      Verdict

      None of these inspire much confidence in an unappealing maiden race. Crystallographer is well clear of Cosmic Dust on handicap ratings and was placed on several occasions during the summer. But a chance is taken POLISH EMPRESS shows further progress having finished a well beaten third over 6f here a fortnight ago. Candy Express hasn’t raced since beaten 10 lengths at Beverley in June while both Poetic Queen and Piccolilly were tailed off on their latest starts.
