Verdict
Named At Dinner can land this prize at the expense of Rare Coincidence and Classic Event. Ann Duffield is not in the business of sending out forlorn hopes and while this horse always had it to do against the mighty Iron Man, there was enough to like about the gelding in two recent starts to suggest that compensation awaits. Rare Coincidence finished behind the selection in that Ayr race but with ground likely to be much faster than at Ayr, on flat form the two should finish a bit closer today although a 7lb differential at the weights will not help matters. Classic Event is still a maiden on the flat but has to be respected as an inmate of Tim Easterby's. Staying looks assured on what we have seen thus far. Habitual Dancer and Winslow Boy renew rivalries having met previously on the flat. They both look to have it to do on the bare form evidence. Alpha Juliet is in receipt of all the allowances here and must be watched in the betting. Not the strongest of contests but an obvious opportunity for Named at Dinner to take a maiden success over timber.
