In depth

Verdict

Minella Trump completed a Sedgefield double at the back-end of last year and finished in front of the long odds-on The Cashel Man in a three-horse race at Bangor but was demoted to second. Polish landed a Ludlow maiden before staying in a Kempton handicap over 2m5f so the extra will suit. Mr Scrumpy landed a Wetherby handicap before just failing to handle a 6lb rise at Doncaster then fell two out back at Wetherby when still in touch. Baron De Midleton took advantage of very testing ground when making all in a Sedgefield novices' event while Rath An Iuir easily won a novices' event here and was staying on strongly on his handicap debut at Doncaster last month when the winner was receiving 12lb. Sirwilliamwallace made all for an impressive victory in a Kelso maiden but LADRONNE comes here with a 7lb penalty for Sunday's very impressive victory at Southwell. The latter looks well ahead of the handicapper on that performance and can complete a quick double.
