COMPAS SCOOBIE didn't run badly on his handicap debut at Newmarket then landed a Kempton maiden despite not getting the run of the race. He had a bit in hand at the finish and could be a step ahead of the assessor so looks the one to be on. Meandmyshadow has won 15 races including over the course and distance last month and is still reasonably treated while Wahaab picks up a penalty for last Monday's dead-heat here which could just prevent a quick double. Clubland has won a dozen races but is a Southwell specialist unlike Slingsby and Dark Side Dream, who fought out a finish here last month and go very well on the surface.
