Verdict
Money Trix, described as been out of the top drawer by his trainer, could be a warm order here but, if there are any chinks in his armour they're likely to be exposed today and Negus De Beaumount can take advantage. Rathowen is next best. Money Trix hasn't been out since finishing second to Black Jack Ketchum in the Grade 1 Sefton Novices' Hurdle at Aintree in 2006. He should be straight enough for this outing but he's sure to improve for the run and this will be an exacting test for him under the prevailing conditions. Negus De Beaumont also showed decent form over hurdles and is also regarded as a cracking long term prospect by his yard. These conditions are tailor made for him and he should be cherry ripe following an entirely satisfactory chase debut on his reappearance at Uttoxeter. He can be expected to improve considerably on that form this afternoon. Gidam Gidam is vulnerable under a penalty in this company, Rathowen has the form to make an impact if he's straight enough after a short break but this looks to be between Money Trix and Negus De Beaumont with the latter taken to land the spoils.
