    Verdict

    It’s difficult to see any further than ODE TO AUTUMN in this. John Gosden’s charge was narrowly beaten at Lingfield on his first start since being gelded and can go one better today. Assimile finished a modest fourth here on his debut but that was still a much better effort than Allleedsaren'twe’s effort at Southwell and he looks the main threat. Good Boy Alfie is a half-brother to middle-distance winners and may be seen to better effect when tackling further.
