In depth

Verdict

Not exactly the strongest maiden with plenty of deadwood, but due to the severe lack of form in the field it is a tricky race to come down firmly in favour of any of them. The vote goes to EZRA CHURCH who may find enough assistance from the first application of blinkers to win. He has shown bits and pieces of promise and his dam was a winner over this trip. Lathaat is bred to be better than this but has shown little so far whilst Hakuna Matata wouldn't need to find too much on debut to have a successful first outing. Charles Bear has progressed in two runs on the artificial so far and could be involved in proceedings with Machir Bay entitled to improve after a moderate debut at Hamilton. (Jon Ivan-Duke)
