Verdict
Diamond Sal and Ryhall look the pick of the experienced runners but we will take a chance with the newcomer Miss Academy. Martin Pipe is not a regular visitor to Newcastle so all his runners here today have to be respected. Miss Academy has the right credentials, she was unbeaten in four races on the flat in France over middle distances, the the most recent being a 20 thousand pounds race at Maisons-Laffitte. She obviously has a touch of class and should be capable of going in at the first time of asking over hurdles. She will have to be decent though because Diamond Sal also looks a good recruit to this game having landed a valuable bumper at last years Grand National meeting. She hails from a top yard and will know doubt have been well schooled. Ryhall finished third behind Cake It Easy last time, a much improved performance, if she continues on the upgrade she should be a danger to all. Machiato may prove best of the remainder, but on this occasion we will give the vote to Miss Academy.
