In depth
Verdict
Double Ransom can bring his stamina into play here and is the pick over Pure Mischief, Kingsdon and Jake Black. Double Ransom was a beaten favourite at Lingfield on his latest outing there in March, but will appreciate the step up in trip for his return to Turf, and with ground conditions to suit, he can get back to winning ways. He was seldom able to utilise his stamina on the fast Polytrack surface, but we should see him improve enough to pick up a few races before conditions firm up and he gets the vote. Pure Mischief, a winner in heavy going over hurdles at Plumpton in the past, would have needed his return at Wolverhampton recently. He ran well for along way though and can strip fitter here. Kingsdon picked up a moderate race on the Polytrack in February but is not that well treated on Turf, while Jake Black has won here over timber in the past so at least has that in his favour. Nothing else stands out, and Double Ransom holds the best claims overall.
