Verdict

A low grade but difficult handicap to unravel. David O'Meara is having a very good season so Spahi will be fancied after a good run behind Fossgate here though that was over 1m4f and this may be on the short side. Ay Tay Tate lost his maiden tag in very easy fashion at Carlisle but couldn't quite manage a follow-up under a penalty at Beverley three days later. He still runs under a penalty and should be involved in the finish though PATTERN MARK, who won a division of this from just 4lb lower a year ago, should be ready for a repeat after just two runs this season. The lightly-raced Maxi Moo was heavily backed here last month but found the mile too sharp and should do better over today's trip.
