In depth

Verdict

In the bumper, we will take a chance on Coe, with the others to have made the short list being Kealshore Boy and Duke Of Malfi. From a stable that has done well in these types of races over the years, Len Lungo's Banoge should be given some thought, while Celtic Gladiator's two runs to date have not been devoid of promise. Coe's Haydock debut also displayed some promise, while Duke Of Malfi's Ayr second last time has since been boosted by the win of the third-placed horse that day, so he looks set to go well. Having run green on his debut but still having won, Kealshore Boy, whose trainer thinks quite a bit of, looks open to further improvement, while Star Player was only narrrowly beaten on his racecourse debut and is entitled to consideration. Finally, Supreme Builder showed some promise on his debut in a Punchestown bumper and the Ferdy Murphy-trained gelding should be watched out for in the betting, and The Snurglar also hinted at ability first-time up, although he was beaten quite some way. It is hard to be dogmatic in naming the winner but, for the selection, we will stick with Coe.
