    Verdict

Three-year-olds have a poor record in this competitive sprint so last Saturday's Newmarket runner-up Ballista is probably worth opposing here. Dandy Nicholls has won this twice in the last five years and relies on Thirsk second Silaah and Cape Vale today, while Kevin Ryan has entered both Perfect Blossom and Racy. Tim Easterby is also dually represented with Confessional, runner-up to last year's winner Captain Dunne at Epsom earlier this month, preferred to the enigmatic Hazelrigg but it may be worth giving another chance to NOODLES BLUE BOY. Ollie Pears' five-year-old has been beaten three times over 6f this season but it could be a fast-run 5f will suit him better and tonight's easier going is also in his favour. Mon Brav and Verinco have both been in good form this year and should also be pressing for a place again but Ancient Cross may have too much weight at present and this may be too hot for Solemn.
